History

Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center is one of the most historically significant launch pads in the world, hosting Apollo 11, numerous Shuttle missions, and now SpaceX Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and future Starship launches. SpaceX has leased LC-39A from NASA since 2014 and extensively modified it for Falcon operations. The pad originally featured a mobile launcher platform transported via crawler-transporter.
