History

The First Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) on Sriharikota Island is India’s primary orbital launch facility, supporting PSLV and GSLV missions. Located on a barrier island off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, it provides access to a wide range of orbital inclinations. The site is named after the father of the Indian space program.
