Europa Clipper is a orbiter mission by NASA / JPL targeting Europa. Launched October 14, 2024. Currently 1.6736 AU from the Sun.

Europa Clipper is NASA’s flagship mission to study Jupiter’s moon Europa and its subsurface ocean. Launched in October 2024 aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy, it is the largest spacecraft NASA has ever built for a planetary mission. It will perform 49 close flybys of Europa to investigate whether the moon has conditions suitable for life.

  • Largest planetary spacecraft ever built by NASA
  • Solar panels spanning 30.5m
  • Radiation vault to protect electronics at Jupiter
  • 49 close flybys of Europa planned
