This mission delivered South Korea’s CAS500-2 Earth observation satellite along with 44 other payloads to orbit. The CAS500-2 satellite will capture high-resolution images of Earth with 0.5-meter detail in black and white mode and 2-meter resolution in color. According to Spaceflight Now, this was SpaceX’s third rideshare mission of 2026.

The launch also carried three Pelican satellites from Planet Labs. These advanced imaging satellites are part of a 32-satellite constellation designed to provide better image quality and faster response times than Planet’s existing satellite fleets. NASASpaceflight reported that the mission successfully deployed all payloads to their target sun-synchronous orbit.

Booster

This launch marked the 33rd flight for booster B1071, which first flew in February 2022. The booster successfully landed back at Landing Zone 4 just 50 days after its previous flight. This veteran booster has now completed 33 consecutive successful landings.
