Japan’s newest rocket configuration is proving itself in space right now! The H3-30 variant uses three powerful LE-9 engines but no solid rocket boosters, making it the lightest version of the H3 family. This test flight carries a dummy main payload called VEP-5 plus five small satellites.

According to NASASpaceflight, this launch marks the H3’s return to flight and debuts the lightest configuration of Japan’s next-generation rocket. The mission tests how well the rocket can reach sun-synchronous orbit without extra boosters.

SpaceX will launch 29 more Starlink satellites to expand its global internet network. This mission brings the total number of Starlink satellites even closer to providing worldwide coverage. The launch uses a proven Falcon 9 rocket that has completed 295 straight successful flights.

This rocket launch will use booster B1080, which is flying for the 27th time after a 59-day turnaround. The first stage will attempt to land on the drone ship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” in the Atlantic Ocean.
